The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2014 - WCR CHAPTER
IRAS Day on West Central Railway was celebrated with lot of enthusiasm on 29th November which was attended by retired and serving officers. The keynote address was delivered by Smt Anuradha Mukhedkar, FA&CAO in which she stated that the Role of IRAS officer has become even more critical considering the changing times and difficult financial scenario and there is a need to re-invent ourselves. This was followed by addresses by Shri Kartik Chauhan, FA&CAO(C) who stated that this is a occasion to introspect the contribution made to the organisation by the Service in individual capacity and work towards becoming professional Financial Manager . Shri Naval Srivastava , FA&CAO(T) emphasised that focus should be to enhance our capabilities in core activities . Shri D.K.Dhusia, FA&CAO (SW) in his address mentioned that there is no substitute for professional experience. There was discussion on professional matters and topics relevant to IRAS. Retired and young officers also shared their experiences.
In keeping with the times, this was followed by presentation on “Service Tax and Cenvat†by Shri Dinesh Bisen, Dy Commissioner, Service Tax. Further, Considering the changing scenario, a presentation on “Analysis of Restructuring/privatisation of British Railways†was given by Shri G.S.Chawla, Dy CAO (G). These presentations were very well received by the gathering.
Achievements
• CENVAT Credit availed Rs 51.72 Crs and Rs 15.30 Crs utilised up to Sept’14.
• To improve the work culture and to ensure cleanliness, 4 Truckloads of condemned dead stock and old office record shifted from work place.
• Preparation of PPO through ARPAN Module started on WCR from November’14.
• Overpayment of Pension payment for Rs 2.62 Crs detected and Rs 2.51 Crs recovered from Banks.
