The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

In Memoriam
Shri Arun Singh, IRAS 2007 Exam Batch (1983-2021)
With deep sense of sorrow, it is informed that Shri Arun Singh, IRAS of 2007 batch has left for his heavenly abode. He breathed his last on the evening of 08.08.2021. Shri Arun Singh was suffering from kidney problem and had been admitted to the hospital. On the evening of 08.08.2021, he suffered a heart failure. Shri Arun Singh joined South Eastern Railway on his first posting and worked in different posts in South Eastern Railway and North Central Railway. The untimely departure of Shri Arun Singh has not only left a great void for his family, but also for the entire IRAS fraternity. Shri Arun Singh will always be remembered for his extremely jovial personality and great dynamism as an officer. He was extremely helpful to everyone. There has been a tremendous outpouring of support and grief not only amongst the IRAS fraternity but also from the entire family of Railway officers upon this untimely demise.
May God give his near and dear ones the strength to bear this loss. The IRAS community is deeply saddened by the untimely loss of such a young and promising member of the Cadre. May his soul rest in peace.
