The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS Day 2024- Jabalpur Chapter
The IRAS Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Accounts Officers of WCR on 30th November 2024 at Jabalpur. The function was presided over by PFA/WCR Ms. Manjeet Kaur and the Guest of Honour was Smt. Anuradha Mukhedkar, Retd IRAS and ex-DRM/Rajkot. The Special Guest on the occasion was Shri. Alok Dave, Retd GM/MCF/Rae Bareli. All the IRAS Officers posted in various units of WCR and retired IRAS Officers attended the function.
At the outset, PFA/WCR Ms. Manjeet Kaur welcomed all the Guests and Officers. She congratulated the Officers for their exceptional performance as a team and encouraged them to excel with a broader perspective of Railway working. She also expressed her appreciation for the retired Officers who actively participated in the event. Smt. Anuradha Mukhedkar articulated the need for hands-on approach of IRAS Officers in the increasingly challenging times faced by Indian Railways. She highlighted the essentiality of transitioning from being a conventional finance and accounts Officer to becoming a participative and proactive team member.
Shri Alok Dave shared his perspective of attaining a stress-free personal and professional life. He discussed the strategy of converting pain into pleasure as a means of achieving excellence in all spheres of life. He explained the importance of nurturing positive thoughts and eliminating negative thoughts as a means of creating and attracting good vibes and spreading more positivity.
The IRAS Day celebration concluded with a vote of thanks which was then followed by lunch. The gaiety and merriment amongst the Officers and Guests continued over lunch and the function ended on a happy note.
