The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS Day 2024- Guwahati Chapter
The Guwahati Chapter of IRAS was celebrated IRAS Day 2024 with enthusiasm on November 22, 2024, at the Luitgarh Railway Officers Club, Maligaon. This annual event brought together serving IRAS officials of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) and retired IRAS officers, fostering camaraderie and commemorating the contributions of the Indian Railway Accounts Service to Government of India and Indian Railways in Specific.
The evening commenced with an invocation to Saraswati Vandana and the lighting of diyas by senior IRAS officers, setting an auspicious tone. Shri David Lalmalsawma, Principal Financial Advisor, extended a warm welcome to all attendees with his insightful address. A moment of silence was observed to pay tribute to four esteemed IRAS officials who passed away, marking a solemn yet reflective moment in the program.
The event featured thought-provoking session by Shri Sharan Kumar, renowned Chartered Accountant on “Applications of Forensic Auditing in Indian Railways”. And the same was accompanied with thought provoking presentation on "Working Environment of the NFR Accounts Department - Status, Challenges, and Way Forward" by Shri Praveen Kumar, Sr. DFM/RNY, followed by the wisdom from the IRAS fraternity made it an interactive and engaging platform for sharing experiences.
The cultural program celebrated the vibrant heritage of Northeast India with a traditional dance performance, which captivated the audience. The evening continued with lively musical performances, including vocal renditions by Shri P. Kamban, FA&CAO/CON, and Shri Sunil Kumar, Dy.FA&CAO/HQ.
This memorable event was concluded with Vote of Thanks from NFR IRAS Team duly highlighting the significance of IRAS Day in fostering professional exchange and celebration within the fraternity.
