The new IRAS Logo assimilates the past, present and future to demonstrate the future ready IRAS which upholds the principles of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”.
The logo has been carefully designed to demonstrate the nature of the service and contemporary times.
Adorned with the National Emblem, the logo symbolizes service to the Government of India. The Railway bogie resting on the track symbolizes that IRAS is dedicated to serving the Indian Railways, the three wheels represents evolution and motion, and upholding the motto of “Propriety, Proficiency and Productivity”. The book and the computer monitor symbolizes that IRAS is the fusion of both old and new methods of analysis, its ability to continuously evolve and embrace innovations, bridging the traditional methods of accounting and book-keeping with latest technology such as data analysis, AI etc. to propel IR to an upward growth trajectory.
Finally the 25 pairs of leaves on the logo represents the 17 Zonal Railways and 8 Production units which comprise India Railways. They also symbolizes wisdom, prosperity, motion and continuity.
The logo is a demonstration of the “FUTURE READY IRAS”.

IRAS DAY 2024- NWR CHAPTER
The North Western Railway, Accounts Department celebrated IRAS Day “JAIPUR CHAPTER” on November 30, 2024, with great enthusiasm and energy under the leadership of Ms. Gitika Pandey, PFA/NWR, at Jaipur. The event saw the participation of several retired IRAS stalwarts and around 50 officers, both retired and serving. It began with the felicitation of distinguished retired IRAS officers and the unveiling of a personalized memento—a thoughtfully designed diary. Ms. Gitika Pandey, PFA/NWR conveyed an inspiring message from Member Finance, setting a motivating tone for the day. In her welcome address, she shared her vision for fostering collaboration and a commitment to excellence within the team.
The theme of “IRAS Day 2024 – JAIPUR CHAPTER” centered on "Artificial Intelligence: Opportunities and Challenges". Reflecting this theme, key sessions included a presentation by Shri Hemant, DFM Ajmer, showcasing innovative uses of Artificial Intelligence in financial management and accounts. Another highlight was a captivating talk by Shri Anish Prasad, IPS, EDV (P), Railway Board, who provided insightful and humorous perspectives on cybersecurity and cyber hygiene. His practical advice on safe online practices left a lasting impact on the attendees.
The event was skilfully compered by Shri Abhinav Gupta, FA&CAO(C)/NWR, ensuring a seamless flow of activities. The celebrations concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Shri G.K. Meena, FA&CAO (G)/NWR, who acknowledged the efforts of all contributors. Adding a unique touch to the occasion, attendees were treated to a delicious millet-based menu. The event’s success was a testament to the meticulous planning and dedication of Ms. Swati Chulet, Dy. CAO(G)/NWR, and her team. Their efforts made the celebration a memorable and enriching experience that truly captured the spirit of IRAS Day.
