With profound grief, we announce the sad demise of Ms. Priya Prakash, IRAS officer of 1957 Exam Batch who passed away at 12:30 PM on 04.07.2021. She was Indian Railways first woman IRAS officer. Born on 18/09/1934, Ms. Priya Prakash joined Railways on 24/10/1958. During her service she held several important posts and superannuated as Principal Adviser/Planning Commission of India in September 1992. Ms. Priya Prakash was an excellent person known for her clarity of thought. Colleagues remember her as an extremely bright, painstaking, meticulous and scholarly officer. She was a kind and gentle soul, universally loved. Our deepest condolences to her family as we stand by them in this hour of grief. May the departed soul rest in peace.
