Intensive Check by TIAs on Northern Railway

 

An intensive check was done by TIAs of Northern  Railway at Panipat Station on 24th Sepember 2003. The
check was organised to detect ticketless travel and improper journey tickets. As a result of this 12 hour
intensive check Rs 88418 was recovered in cash from  744 ticketless travellers (Rs 49583 were recovered on
account of fare and Rs.37045 as penalty). Further 37 passengers were detected with unbooked luggage from
whom Rs.1790 was recoverd. Apart from the above  47 ticketless travellers were sent to judicial custody
and Rs.14232 has been assessed as fare  and penalty to be recovered from them.
